Snow Trip 2024 was an absolute blast! This year, 44 of us packed our snow gear and headed to Queenstown, where Mantel Group’s destination hub awaits.
For those who arrived early, the Remarkables greeted us with perfect skiing conditions, lush snow, a hint of sunshine, and impeccably groomed runs. Most of the team took the bus up the mountain, winding through some seriously twisty switchbacks. It was like a rollercoaster ride before the real fun began!
By Thursday evening, with most of the crew in town, we hit up the local pub for a massive group dinner. It was the perfect chance to connect, swap stories, and plot out our plans beyond just skiing.
On Day 2, we kicked things off with a visit to Ferg’s bakery, because who doesn’t need cream donuts, pastries, pies, and coffee to fuel a day on the slopes? We headed back up the Remarkables with an even bigger crew this time. Spotting our team was a breeze thanks to our new swag neck gaiters. After a day full of carving turns, we gathered by Lake Wakatipu for a group photo and then chowed down on a Mexican feast. Talk about a delicious end to a perfect day!
Day 3 brought us to Coronet Peak, and we timed it just right to catch the 50th Anniversary of the Dog Derby. Picture this: dogs and their owners took the lift up, then raced down the slopes. Some owners were hilariously dragged behind their furry friends. It was equal parts adorable and side-splitting. We wrapped up the day with a hearty pizza dinner, celebrating another epic day on the snow.
By Day 4, some were feeling a bit sore, and only the bravest souls ventured back up the mountain for one last hurrah. After saying our goodbyes, it was time to head home.
But the Snow Trip wasn’t just about skiing. For those not so keen on hitting the slopes, Queenstown had plenty to offer. There were wine tastings, hikes up the Tiki Trail, thrilling water activities like the Shotover Jet, day trips to the breathtaking Milford Sound, and even a bit of bungy jumping for the adventurous at heart.
A few lucky team members took advantage of My Deal to extend their stay and work from the Hub. Located a block from the famous Ferg’s Burgers and with a view over Lake Wakatipu, the Hub was a dream setup. With six monitors and a meeting room, it was perfect for getting work done, and lunchtime walks along the lake were an added bonus.
Snow Trip 2024 was an epic adventure filled with laughter, breathtaking views, and unforgettable experiences. Until next year!
