Google Cloud has fundamentally redesigned its channel ecosystem with the launch of the Google Cloud Partner Network, transitioning from traditional program metrics to value-based customer outcomes.
Moving from a two-tier to a three-tier structure, the revamped model introduces an elite Diamond tier alongside automated, AI-driven competency tracking. This strategic shift aims to streamline partner administration while prioritising real-world deployment value, deep field alignment, and technical capability across Australia and New Zealand.
Accelerating Value and Automation in the AI Era
The updated structure eliminates redundant reporting by infusing AI-driven tracking directly into the Partner Network Hub. Google Cloud will now automatically evaluate capacity and capability through technical certifications, pre-sales influence, and post-sales support rather than relying on standard business plans. Alongside 21 new outcome-focused competencies across solutions, products, and industries, this model enables agile partners to differentiate their offerings based on proven customer success rather than rigid program tiering.
“With the depth of over 100 Google certs, and the breadth of 850 highly skilled people across AI, cloud, data, digital, and cyber we have the majority of the new capabilities in our existing offering. In addition, the program's focus on AI and automation mirrors our own 'AI Factory' approach.”
