Mantel Group has bolstered its Microsoft Consultancy practice with the appointment of Michael McLoghlin to lead its Client Engagement operation.

Mantel Group plans to triple the size of its Microsoft practice this year in the wake of Microsoft’s $5 billion investment in hyperscale cloud computing and AI infrastructure in Australia.

McLoghlin’s recruitment comes just months after Mantel Group lured Olikka co-founder Michael Gansel to bolster its Microsoft Cloud capability.

McLoghlin recently relocated to Australia from the UK where he was part of the commercial team that built Content+Cloud from a small UK technology consultancy of approximately 100 staff into a 1300-strong powerhouse specialising in Microsoft products and solutions. Content+Cloud was subsequently acquired by Swedish giant Advania, a major Microsoft partner in Europe.

Mantel Group’s Partner leading the Microsoft Cloud practice, John Kaleski said of the move: “We are pleased to have Michael spearheading several large cloud engineering and consulting engagements. He has a proven track record of building strong Microsoft solutions businesses, based on successful customer relationships.”

McLoghlin said: “I’m looking forward to driving Mantel Group’s growth plans in the Microsoft space. They have been securing some of the industry’s most skilled people to execute on their ambitions.”

“Clients should be aware of Microsoft’s large investment in Australia, specifically around data centres and skill development. The Microsoft technology set continues to be a market leader and drive innovation to enable organisations to transform towards a modern model.”

Mantel Group has realigned its Microsoft practice around three focus areas under Kaleski’s stewardship: core Azure Infrastructure services, Platform Engineering, and Modern Workplace which Kaleski expects to be one of Mantel Group’s strongest growth areas over the next 24-months.

“Our deep technical specialisation and experience allows us to support clients to deliver solutions that harness the full potential of Microsoft’s Azure cloud services,” Kaleski said.
